Corrosion Consultant – Jensen Hughes – Baltimore, MD

Overview: Jensen Hughes is seeking a talented Corrosion Consultant with experience supporting the Department of Defense. The position can be supported from anywhere in the U.S., with occasional travel to the greater DC metro area desired. This newly created position will work on a variety of projects and have a focus on providing technical engineering support in the form of analysis and policy recommendations for our DoD clients. We are a leading specialty consulting firm providing a range of professional services involving corrosion, environmental, life safety, fire protection, industrial safety, process safety, risk-informed engineering, business continuity, security, emergency planning and emergency response on government, commercial, residential, healthcare, institutional and industrial projects for clients worldwide.
Responsibilities:

  • Support development of policies, briefings, guidance documents and budget justification.
  • Evaluate corrosion prevention and control practices and prepare technical reports.
  • Interface with clients.
  • Participate in business development activities as needed to help grow our environmental and corrosion practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 3-5+ years of experience to include understanding of DoD practices and interest in corrosion.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering or scientific principles and practices. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent personal computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent writing/presenting/communications skills.
  • Demonstrated writing sampleā€”be prepared to present written reports, articles or similar.
  • Expected to travel locally 1-2 times per month and overnight 2-4 times per year on average. Greater travel requirements if not located in the greater DC metro area.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team, enjoys professional challenges, and wants to be an integral part of the long-term growth of the team.
