Our client has needs for Field Service Engineers who are willing to live in the following locations:

*Candidates must be willing to spend 75 – 80% of their time traveling within and outside those locations.

Role Details:

Once a new client is signed this function is assigned via an allocation meeting where resources are booked for install. The FSE will do the install (against checklist) and transition product/service over to the operators and administrators. The FSE will train the end client and will stay on through go-live and sometimes first time the client will use the product. The FSE is also responsible for refurbishments, HW and SW upgrades and potential troubleshooting. They will be geographically aligned. Needs to be able to think technically on their feet and have a good grasp of the HW and SW side. They do have some good SW tools for diagnosis, but they must be able to troubleshoot creatively. Need to be extroverts. Very customer facing. The FSE will be training folks on the technology/system, and it could be anyone from a security guard to the C-Suite of their client.

Organization:

There are currently 4 FSEs in the company and this will be #5. There will be opportunities for this role to take on more responsibility as the company expands or move into other parts of the organization (ex. Service). The company is looking to double in size and then double again in the next 2 years. Two of their largest investors are Jeb Bush and Bill Gates. They are going public in the end of Q2 and trade on NASDAQ. They are signing on large high-profile clients like Disney, NE Patriots, Manchester United Football Club, Chicago Cubs, 6 Flags.

Description

We are looking for a skilled and energetic field service engineer to help us ensure a seamless customer rollout of our products. Currently, our services team supports product demos and installations, as well as provides maintenance, upgrades, and repairs to existing field units. As the interface between customers and our engineering and sales teams, our field engineers play a critical role in ensuring that our product implementations are successful. As an expert in all aspects of our products, you will be responsible for initial installation and setup, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, hardware testing and replacement, software maintenance and upgrading, training customer employees and security staff, and ensuring a very high level of customer satisfaction. In conjunction with our sister group, you will work collaboratively to provide support for pilots, trials, initial installs, and deployments, collecting data and providing critical feedback to our engineering and product managers.

Requirements

You have at least five years of experience as a field service engineer, and you enjoy building long-lasting relationships with customers. You have a tenacious, never-give-up attitude, and are passionate about keeping people safe around the world. You have experience working with a wide variety of partners and customers, including but not limited to, private and government development programs, private service organizations, law enforcement, and military. You have experience readying products for trade shows and distribution across partner networks. In addition, you can also demonstrate the following:

  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (travel estimated at 75 -85%)
  • System level troubleshooting (mechanical, electronic, and RF)
  • Wiring diagrams, schematics, and the ability to read floor plans.
  • Capable of taking charge of installation with respect to subcontractors and facilities and providing guidance to the customer.
  • Experience with security and checkpoints helpful
  • WTMD, x-ray baggage scanning, Trace, Video surveillance systems
  • Experience with networking, access control, phone, and tablet applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with many different types of people, including customers, operations, engineering, and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with CRM tools
