Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community

**The shifts available are 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, or weekends from 7am-11pm


Devereux Pennsylvania
Children’s Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) in Glenmoore focuses its efforts on intensive services for at-risk children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences.


Devereux Brandywine Programs located in Glenmore PA provides psychiatric residential treatment and education services for children and adolescents who experience behavioral and emotional challenges, often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments.


The Direct Care Professional:


Assists in the planning and implementation of residential program services for assigned clients. Provides supervision of clients in program activities and leisure time on and off facility grounds. Assists in maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program clients. Directly support and facilitate individual and group interventions and therapeutic activities, including but not limited to life skills and social skills, per treatment plans and program expectations. Provides transportation for clients, families, or other as assigned.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires staff without an approved medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated to be employed in this program.
If you are fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.


Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate’s understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required


EXPERIENCE:
Some experience in behavioral health preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) techniques.
