The overarching goal of the Care Partner is to improve the patient and provider experience throughout the cancer journey.

You will serve people diagnosed with cancer as their advocate and navigator through the continuum of cancer care. In this role, you will spend significant time listening to the patient’s needs, helping them surface their goals and priorities, and assisting patients in communicating with their healthcare providers and Oncology Nurse Navigators to promote informed decision making and timely access to care. You will act as a liaison and coordinator between the patient and the various stakeholders involved in their care: physicians, specialists, their staff, and the patient’s health insurance plan. The Care Partner will demonstrate a strong patient-advocacy focus, factoring in the need for culturally-competent care. The Care Partner will consistently focus on improving Thyme Care’s service offerings and communicating feedback to Thyme Care management.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Contact patients to inform them of Thyme Care’s services and support them as they begin their cancer care journey
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the patient through listening and empathy
  • Explain the benefits of the Thyme Care program and services in a manner that promotes patient and caregiver interest and enthusiasm for enrollment
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and services to assist with scheduling appointments, diagnostics and treatments
  • Assist in identifying patient needs and relaying or escalating them to the appropriate person/resource.
  • Operate as a continuous customer experience liaison to ensure patient satisfaction from initial call through survivorship and/or end of life care.


Required Education and Skills:

  • 3+ years experience in service-oriented role in relevant field, including: healthcare, wellness, home healthcare, social work, counseling, community health, behavioral health, clinical call centers, spiritual care, life and career coaching, birth or end-of-life doula work, caregiving
  • Passion for assisting people and their families during one of the most difficult and challenging times in their lives

  • Comfort operating in an ambiguous environment

  • Experience with video chatting, Google Suite, and/or comfort with learning new software applications
  • Ability to travel for trainings and convenings 4-5 times/year once the company has resumed normal operations after the COVID-19 pandemic


Preferred Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Conversational fluency in Spanish strongly preferred, but not required
