Sentry is looking for an analytical and result driven individual to fulfill our Actuarial Analyst I position within Sentry’s Commercial Lines business. Whether monitoring rate adequacy, managing corporate insurance risks, or calculating insurance rates, our Actuaries combine refined analytical skills with business acumen to provide cutting-edge solutions to real world insurance problems in our niche markets.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Property and Casualty Actuarial Analyst in Sentry’s Stevens Point office, you’ll support our commercial lines book analyzing our insurance pricing for adequacy and growth opportunities. In addition, you’ll:
- Apply and recommend changes to actuarial techniques and procedures
- Utilize basic and advanced ratemaking techniques
- Project future performance for lines of business
- Analyze impacts on profit and growth objectives
- Collaborate with our Underwriting team in support of our rate, retention, and new business goalsC
- Collaborate with our Data Analytics team in development of new and updated pricing models
- Revitalize reporting, improving efficiency and utilizing new methods and data tools
WHAT IT TAKES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuary Science, Math, Accounting or related fields
- 0 – 2 years of related work experience preferred
- Completed 2 or more actuarial exams
- Data analysis experience
- Programming languages experience beneficial
