We are a Midtown Manhattan law firm with 100 year history and an international client base of insurers looking to hire an Associate to work in an department of 20 attorneys whose primary practice focuses on healthcare (but also includes construction defects, products liability, and other areas).

Our firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Associate Attorney with a focus on Healthcare Liability to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, possess excellent litigation skills, and have a strong passion for advocacy. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex healthcare liability cases, providing legal advice and representation to our prestigious clients in the healthcare industry. The candidate will work alongside our team of seasoned attorneys in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of healthcare liability cases, including medical malpractice, healthcare fraud, and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in the healthcare industry, including hospitals, nursing homes, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to healthcare liability.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and excellent client service.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in healthcare laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must have passed the New York Bar exam
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Associate Attorney with a focus on Healthcare Liability.
  • Admission to the state bar where practicing.
  • Proven experience in handling healthcare liability cases, including medical malpractice, healthcare fraud, and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Exceptional litigation skills, including experience in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload and work under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
