Ascent Health is hiring ASAP for a Part-Time Specimen Processor (SP) with Phlebotomy experience in the Cullman, AL area. The SP collects quality samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The SP has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. This position will be in one physician’s office where the SP will report to daily.
**The shift for this position is Friday 8:00 am- 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, and Sunday 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm**
Job Responsibilities:
-Collect specimens according to established procedures.
-Responsible for completing all data entry requirements accurately including patient registration; entry of test order from requisition or pulling order from database
-Enter billing information
-Data entry and processing specimen
-Perform clerical duties when assigned such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and answer phones when needed
-Perform verification of patient demographic info / initials including patient signature post-collection to verify samples were labeled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct
-Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data
-Maintain all appropriate sample logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and volume logs
-Complete training courses and keep up-to-date with the latest sample collection techniques
-Stay up-to-date on company communications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $16.00 per hour
