Wound Care Inpatient, RN Wound Care FT Days – BSA Health System – Amarillo, TX

The Inpatient Wound Care RN is accountable for the health status and health needs of patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Provides advanced specialized wound, skin, and ostomy care to patients with select disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems. Provides consultation to staff on patients with complex wounds. Functions independently and in collaboration with nursing colleagues, Physicians, and/or with members of other health disciplines.


Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Current Texas RN license or compact license eligible to practice in the State of Texas
BLS (CPR) certification by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Wound Care certifications desired including but not limited to WOCN, CWA, CWCA or WCA


Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Minimum of two years medical/surgical or wound care experience strongly preferred
Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
Excellent time management and organization skills
Ability to multi-task constantly, tolerate interruptions and prioritize

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels
Ability to maintain calm and controlled demeanor in stressful situations
Must exhibit and exemplify the BSA culture including the BSA Mission, Vision and the BSA Way
