Auburn Village has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Director at its facility in Auburn, Indiana. The position available is Full-Time (Exempt) for an 8-hour shift.

The Maintenance Director’s primary role is to maintain the orderly functioning of all equipment in the facility including the kitchen, laundry, heating, air conditioning and elevators as well as purchasing necessary supplies for repairs, maintenance and emergencies within budgetary guidelines while adhering to health and safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Director:

  • Maintain the facility including repairs of resident areas and facility property
  • Implement a preventative maintenance program
  • Assure the proper maintenance and running condition of all appliances and machinery, laundry equipment, forced air units, air handlers, boilers and heating units in the boiler room, sump pumps, emergency generator, fire alarms and elevators
  • Maintain and document schedule of hot water checks in residents’ rooms, baths, showers and all general hot water sources in the facility
  • Check and replace air filters in all units in the building and on the roof
  • Supervise all repairs, construction, renovation, and remodeling and routine maintenance of the building and all department equipment
  • Adhere to established fire, disaster, safety, infection control and evacuation policies and procedures

. Requirements:

Requirements of the Maintenance Director:

  • Experience as a Maintenance Director preferred
  • Experience in a Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing facility or hospital is preferred
  • HVAC Experience preferred
  • A high school diploma or G.E.D is preferred
  • A valid Indiana Driver’s License and pass a Motor Vehicle Report background
  • Must be physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties
  • Be able to lift, push, bend, stoop, crawl, squat, crouch, kneel, climb and go up and down stairs and move equipment, supplies, linens, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds as required
  • Must have good problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
  • Must have a clean criminal background and be willing to undergo federal and state background checks, including fingerprinting
  • Be personable and professional with residents, families and staff and a team-player
