A Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available in Dr. Abdelrahman Fouda’s lab at Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The laboratory focuses on understanding the molecular pathways of neurovascular injury with a special focus on retina disease models. The post-doctoral fellow will contribute to NIH-funded research by using cell/molecular biology, immunohistochemical, cell signaling, and mouse models of retinal injury.

Salary offered commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

  • Performing animal experiments, biochemical techniques (Western blotting, PCR, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry), as well as cell culture work.
  • Presenting and writing manuscripts and grants
  • Performing related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Ph.D, M.D. or equivalent in biomedical science or related field required.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work closely with various laboratory animal specimens.
  • Cell/molecular biology, immunohistochemical, cell signaling, and animal models (preferably mouse models of retina or brain injury).
