Title: Lead Software Quality Engineer

Overview of Position

We are looking for a Lead Software Quality Engineer to join a team building the next generation of a growing healthcare platform. Our team is looking to add members looking to take ownership delivering stable feature functionality our community requires. We’re looking for you if you’re comfortable working in a collaborative environment where everyone takes responsibility for success in every aspect of our product’s delivery. We build incrementally, deliver by validation, enable through a culture of DevOps.

You’ll have a passion for the highest quality results, continuously looking to improve outcomes by enhancing processes and highlighting opportunities. You’ll work in collaboration with minimal supervision, adopting the Agile process to prioritize, pick up, and complete work. You’ll share ideas and team up to deliver new and creative ways to solve problems.


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Act as a quality engineering thought leader; creating testing strategies while coaching and mentoring junior team members towards optimal test methodologies
  • Review and analyze requirements, specifications and other information pertaining to the product being developed and provide risk assessment and other meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases; estimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate, and perform various testing activities; install, configure, and troubleshoot systems as part of product development and sustaining verifications; author efficient, automatable, maintainable test cases and suites and consistently maintain them
  • Execute various types of testing thoroughly with the goal of finding or preventing bugs as early in the development process as possible; identity, record, document thoroughly and track defects. Improve testing approach and test cases, learning for the escaped defect to prevent and minimize such issues in the future
  • Adhere to various internal processes and procedures to comply with applicable regulations, including FDA and ISO 13485, HIPAA, ISO 14971 Risk Management, and ISO 27001 standards


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 6 + years of experience and expertise in testing life-critical software with detailed oriented and analytical personalities.
  • 2+ years of experience in testing on cloud-based software infrastructure and environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience with scripting or programming using object-oriented concepts and modern programming languages like JavaScript is a plus
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related degree or equivalent work experience


What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, efficient yet comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Experience in Hospital PACS technology and other radiology systems.
  • Working knowledge of medical image/large data transfer methods such as DICOM, HL7, DICOM Web, HTML
  • Experience or exposure to continuous integration, DevOps processes, and tools.
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing SaaS application core quality requirements
