Title: Site Reliability Engineer

Overview of Position

Change Healthcare Imaging is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to help take our cloud-hosted medical imaging technology to the next level of scalability and reliability. This position will help guide and implement technology choices for application resiliency, telemetry, reliability testing, CICD pipelines, and any other necessary automation for our application stack which is hosted in Azure Cloud and Google Compute Platform. As a technology thought leader, you must have a passion for learning, leading, and mentoring team members as well as be part of day-to-day reliability engineering projects and operational activities.

This position would report directly to the Sr. Director of Engineering and Operations and work in a DevOps team environment embedded within the application development team.


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement

Develop and maintain CICD pipelines for delivering application service code and infrastructure as code to our cloud platforms

Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews

Proactively maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health

Scale systems sustainably through automated mechanisms and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity

Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems

Act as a technical thought leader across multiple domains and mentor junior members of the team


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 4+ years of experience operating distributed, customer-facing application platforms hosted in Public Cloud
  • 4+ years of experience developing automation for operational activities at both infrastructure and application layers
  • 2+ years of experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins
  • 2 + years of experience building and supporting containerized workloads
  • 2+ years of experience running large Kubernetes hosted environments
  • Experience with languages such as node.js, JavaScript, MongoDB queries, python, Json, Ansible, Terraform
  • 2+ years experience with at least one shell scripting language preferably PowerShell or bash shell
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience


What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Ability to optimize and debug code
  • An understanding of public cloud-based software-defined networking
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design
  • Must be able to thrive in a DevOps working environment
  • Full-stack development background
  • Firm grasp of infrastructure-as-code concepts and their practical application including building ARM and/or Cloud Formation Templates
  • Firm understanding of basic cloud security principles
  • Firm understanding of application resiliency principles
  • Experience with automated resiliency testing
  • A firm understanding of build
