Behavioral Health Social Worker in hospital setting – Full time.
Northbrook Behavioral Health Hospital – Blackwood, NJ
Requirements: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited School of Social Work; New Jersey State Social Work Licensure (LSW or LCSW) is required. Mental Health experience is preferred.
Behavioral Health Social Worker is responsible for:
– Bio psychosocial assessment on each patient assigned which includes substance abuse assessment, mental status assessment, and recommendations for treatment
– Provide 1:1 counseling to patients – including issues related to trauma, substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, and childhood abuse
– Provide family sessions to patients and their families offering counseling and education regarding issues related to psychiatric admission and discharge planning
– Contact community supports and family for collateral information
– Round daily with interdisciplinary team to address patients’ clinical needs and progression of care.
– Meet with clinicians from outside agencies to formulate appropriate treatment and discharge plans
– Attend weekly Mental Health court proceedings, submit court notes as needed and testify on behalf of patients as required
– Provide documentation in the electronic medical record per the Northbrook Social Work Documentation Policy
– Attend Social Work educational workshops provided by Northbrook-
– Complete Hospital Education and Infection Control Requirements
– Complete annual NCI training
Supervision toward LCSW hours is provided
