Position Overview:
- Use your HVAC skills and experience to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
- Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
- Primary areas of expertise include rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, and electrical control systems.
The essential function of the HVAC Project Helper is to serve the customers of Cox-Powell Company by providing general HVAC installation, repair and services with an emphasis on quality work. This position handles commercial and industrial businesses. A candidate for this position must be willing to pursue, develop and participate in continuing education.
The essential function of the Sheet Metal Helper, is to serve the customers of Cox-Powell Company by providing general Duct installation assistance with an emphasis on quality work, performed efficiently. This position handles commercial and industrial installation of Duct/Sheet metal products.
The essential function of the Journeyman Sheet Metal Mechanic is to serve the customers of Cox-Powell Company by providing general Duct installation, repair and services with an emphasis on quality work, performed efficiently and following all applicable local and national codes. This position handles commercial and industrial installation of Duct/Sheet metal products. The candidate must be able to work with inspectors to ensure correct project work, while abiding by all codes.
Technical and Other Skills Required:
- At least 18 years old with valid drivers license
- Strong communication skills
- Able to climb on ladders and work from heights safely
- Able to lift 75 lbs
- Efficient and organized; able to complete req’d paperwork in a timely manner
- Able to pass a Criminal background check and drug test, possess a clean driving record and current drivers license
- Always exhibit professional conduct, whether at the job sit or driving vehicles
- Regular attendance required, must have reliable transportation
Normal Work Week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with one-half hour for lunch. Must be available to work a flexible start and stop times and more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week during and after normal business hours including holidays and weekends if needed.

Pay: $16.00 – $30.00 per hour based on position and experience
