Job Summary

The Director – Customer Care & Delivery Shared Services Finance role leads Finance for several key Customer Experience & Delivery (CXD) business units at Alight. This role is the primary finance partner to 3 of our CXD leaders to support them to achieve their Source Cost, Cost to Serve, Productivity and Operational Health objectives and is responsible for the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis of these areas.

This is a “Director” level role, reporting to the Vice President, One Alight Cost Finance. This role is based in the United States and manages from a functional perspective (“dotted line”) a small team based in Kochi, India. Less than 5% travel is expected in normal circumstances.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CXD Leads and their teams to report financial results and assess the risks and opportunities to achieving the financial targets. Develop and deliver monthly and quarterly reporting materials to be shared with Alight leadership and key stakeholders
  • Perform variance analysis and provide insight on monthly, quarterly, year-to-date, year-to-go, and full year costs, against Plan, Forecast, and prior year
  • Lead efforts with the Delivery partners to ensure accurate Cost Forecasting with particular focus on the current Quarter and Full Year. Continually update and highlight Risks and Opportunities to the Forecast
  • Perform data driven financial analysis to inform leadership decision making
  • Present the Customer Care & Shared Delivery source cost financials to the CXD Leadership team
  • Manage cost allocation processes, Actuals and Forecast, working closely with Business Finance colleagues to ensure alignment and understanding. Improve and simplify allocation processes to minimize / eliminate “noise” and non-value added internal discussion
  • Manage and oversee the business unit long range planning and annual budgeting process including the development, incorporation and alignment of Cost to Serve targets for Customer Care / CXD
  • Support Delivery Transformation and Cost Saving programs with reconciliation to the Actual and Forecast and evaluate and highlight the investment required to support the CXD objectives
  • Continually assess the Fixed and Variable elements of the Customer Care & Shared Delivery Cost base
  • Alight continues to grow both organically and through M&A. This role could be involved in the financial diligence and integration responsibilities as it relates to Customer Care & Shared Delivery
  • Alight will shortly become a Public Company, this role will support compliance to new external reporting requirements across the Customer Care and Shared Delivery areas
  • Actively contribute to the Finance process improvement and reporting enhancement initiatives
  • Excellent Global and Multi-functional team working across all areas with particular emphasis on Finance, CXD & Resource Planning
  • Continually develop the Off-Shore finance colleagues via effective engagement, influencing and coaching. Always demonstrate a “One Team” collaborative approach, “Can Do” attitude and outward looking mindset
  • Ad-hoc projects, metric development and analysis


Knowledge, Education, Certification, Skills & Technical Proficiencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree with additional Professional Finance qualification (if Degree outside of Finance & Accounting)
  • Strong capability across Microsoft products, notably Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong financial acumen, with critical eye and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize individual and team activities in time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to influence, work collaboratively and build effective working relationships across all levels and business functions
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Analytical and inquisitive mentality
