Summary of Position:
Houck is currently seeking mechanical trades at all levels including foreman, riggers, millwrights, pipefitters, welders and skilled laborers. Our work includes equipment installation and removal, machinery moving, plant maintenance, processes and utility piping fabrication and installation. Typical Responsibilities/Functions

1. Perform/supervise fabrication and installation of stainless-steel pipe and equipment in food grade environment

2. Perform/supervise fabrication and installation of utility piping

3. Perform/supervise fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metals

4. Field verify dimensions and perform field fabrication and fitting

5. Perform/supervise rigging work including jacking, skating, heavy forklift operation and loading/unloading trucks

6. Steel erection including shake out, connections and detail work

7. Foreman will be expected to communicate and interface with our clients.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or GED

2. Experience in stainless steel and the food grade industry are preferred but not required

3. 2-4 years’ experience is preferred but not required

4. Comprehension of construction drawings is preferred but not required

5. Current driver’s license

6. Willingness to multitask

7. Self motivated and able to work with little supervision

8. Strong communication skills

9. Must be willing to work weekends and Holidays as needed for client shutdowns

10. Basic math skills are required.

11. Rigging experience, is a plus

12. Be willing to acquire a set of hand tools (the tools of the trade)

13. Pass a drug screen

14. Background checks

Within a 75-mile radius from office with radius pay, daily round trip.
