Sr. Systems Analyst/Administrator – Compass Systems Inc – Lexington Park, MD

Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall systems/network infrastructure analysis, administration, maintenance, and support of the U.S. Navy Air Vehicle Engineering Department 4.3 competency connected and non-connected servers and workstations, to include software, printers and external devices.


Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for the network information assurance compliance, including reporting vulnerabilities and incidents to the command information assurance department. Maintain the security posture of the network by processing vulnerability scans, loading patches/updates, security technical implementation guides (STIG’s) as required, to remain consistent with the information assurance policies and maintain the systems “Authority to Operate”, under the Department of Defense information assurance guidelines. Maintained all pertinent computer network security compliance documents, including audit logs for monitoring inappropriate or unusual network activity. Provide limited users support with the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) system. Responsible for the recommendation of RDT&E IT Procurements.


Other Job Functions:

Serve as analyst/advisor and representative in matters pertaining to the classification, safeguarding, transmission and destruction of information and material. Coordinate and lead restoration of services across the department computer networks and different technical issues, including troubleshooting, changing rollbacks or fixing actions accordingly, perform systems data backup, perform DADMS Administration.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree may be acceptable.

Security + certification required

CE and Operating System (windows) Training or Certification a plus

IAT 8570 compliance


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level, Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
