Patient Screener – Optum – Seattle, WA

The Polyclinic is seeking a Patient Screener for Seattle, WA

Supports The Polyclinic patients and visitors by delivering outstanding customer service, providing information, answering questions, and helping to ensure a safe environment for all who enter the facility.

Hours: Full Time; Monday – Friday; 6:30am to 3:00pm


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet all patients entering The Polyclinic facilities.
  • Obtain initial patient information by interviewing incoming patients, staff and visitors following the most current screening protocols and guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Polyclinic visitor policy and guidelines.
  • Provide direction to patients on where they need to go (ex: acute respiratory clinic and/or other departments)
  • Respond to patient inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Utilize AIDET to greet patients and answer questions during the screening process.
  • Maintain appropriate social distancing during screening.
  • Work as a team member within all Polyclinic departments.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 1-2 years experience in a customer facing setting
  • Healthcare experience preferred

Skills:

  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Empathetic personality giving attention to patient’s needs and concerns.
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Employees are required to screen for symptoms using an approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe.

Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a worksite building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
