General summary:
This position contributes to the success of manufacturing operations by leading the production team to meet customer expectations for on-time delivery and product quality while achieving standards related to on-time, efficiencies and quality. In so doing, this person must be a hands-on leader and liaison with other functional areas within the company. A leader in continuous improvement initiatives.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
· Oversee the entire production team including direct reports of Shift Supervisors
· Responsible for delegating work duties to staff to attain objectives
· Embrace a cross-functional, collaborative, diverse and a customer committed culture, working closely with leaders of other departments
· Embraces and promotes supervisors to achieve performance standards, safety, line efficiency, quality
· Develop direct reports to maximize potential
· Track and monitor direct reports’ performance including performance reviews
· Responsible for overall cost target and track KPIs to achieve production targets and company goals
· Work with other functional areas to oversee facility equipment efficiency and to minimize downtime
· Comply with all quality, environmental, health & safety regulations, and company policies and procedures
· Lead and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
· Work with other functional areas in investigating nonconformances and CAPA
· facilitate the preparation and analysis of reports to Operations Manager
· Must backfill for direct reports
· Additional duties as assigned
Experience & education requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering preferred
· Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in medical device
· Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience with strategic planning
· Ability to read blueprint/specifications
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Work, Outlook, and PowerPoint
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Intermediate math skills with metric conversions
· Working knowledge of ISO 13485, cGMP, and inventory system
· Physical requirement: Lifting and moving up to 50lbs.
