Medical Assistant – Days (8A-5P)

Medical Assistant (Endocrinology) Days (8A-5P) in Burlington, MA. This is a full-time, 13-week contract position working for an excellent local hospital. The pay rate is up to $23/hr.

· Graduate form accredited MA program OR Certification required ( CMA, CCMA, RMA, AAMA, NCMA )

Typical Duties and Responsibilities Include:

· Assist patients by providing information, services, and assistance.

· Manages appointment scheduling

· Prepare examination room for patients.

· Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and taking vitals.

· Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential according to organizational and federal (HIPPA) guidelines.

· Counsel patients by transmitting physician’s orders.

· Clean and perform preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment sanitary and operating.

· Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.

· Take phone calls manage phones as needed.

· Prescription refills.

· Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with organizational and federal regulations.

· Additional duties as requested.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

· 1+ years’ experience in a hospital, clinic or medical office.

· Graduate form accredited MA program or Certification required ( CMA, CCMA, RMA, AAMA, NCMA )

· Current BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA).

· EPIC experience preferred.
