SCOPE OF POSITION

Clinical Leader is responsible for the day to day operations of the clinical area and accountable for the care of patients. The Clinical Leader is expected to practice within the scope of professional standards, rules and regulations established by the Board of Nursing in the appropriate state, and knowledge of policies and procedures. Clinical Leader demonstrates skill in developing and training new team members and students implementing practices that deliver safe competent care to patients based upon applications of the nursing process. Training includes on the job training for Allscripts computer system, lab procedures and any additional procedures performed within the practice setting. The Clinical Leader will work with the Site Supervisor assuring these applications are followed and performing an annual up date of OSHA manual to ensure these guidelines are met.

Responsible for ensuring all tasks generated by providers and computer system are completed within written protocol guidelines. Responsible for ensuring that all patient messages are answered the day the message is generated per protocol. Responsible for reviewing provider nurse views in Allscripts making sure all tasks are completed for perform orders, medication administration and overdue orders. Monitors the Work List in Allscripts to limit overdue orders for any procedures not completed.

Responsible for maintaining all Log Books for quality assurance. Pulling logs from log book monthly for review by Lab Director. Monitor and prepare quarterly reports for Clinical KIQ’s and submitting to Administrator for review. Monitor maintenance required for autoclave and Quality Assurance for sterility of instruments. Responsible for ordering or requesting clinical supplies via Site Supervisor through approved vendors to include requisitioning all lab supplies for phlebotomy. Improve budget process by monitoring packing slips and checking all supplies received with requisition. Documenting received date and initial on the clinical packing slip then submitting to Site Supervisor. Implement rotation of all stock to ensure quality of supplies and monitor for any expired products to include monthly checks for all medications and properly dispose of such supplies per policy. Accountable for all controlled medicines inside the facility and adheres strictly to policy and procedure. Responsible for scheduling team members to maintain efficiency within the work force focusing on adequate coverage along with budget.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

​Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Minimum two years of experience working in a practice setting, preferably in a leadership role.

Valid and active LPN licensure in appropriate state
