Description
Integrated Community Services (ICS) is hiring a full time Medical Assistant/Transportation Aide to assist full time RNs with coordinating medication supply and delivery for individuals with intellectual disabilities in group home and foster care settings in the northwest Houston area (Spring/Tomball).
Duties include:
- Assist Nurse with weekly and monthly review and distribution of medications and MARs (medication administration records)
- Filing of medical documents
- Communication with Nurse, Appointment Runners, healthcare practitioners, family members, Direct Care staff and supervisory staff regarding medical information, appointments, labs, illnesses, injuries, medication changes, etc.
- Schedule, coordinate, and sometimes transport client medical and dental appointments for individuals from home setting
- Preparation of pre-consult packet
- Preparation and communication of home staff
- Post appointment communication with appropriate staff, document review and processing
- Attend and transport clients to appointments, as needed
Qualifications:
- Valid and current Texas Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Able to multi-task and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- HCS experiences preferred, with knowledge of HCS principles
- CNA preferred, but not required
