Job Title: Healthcare Admin/Case Investigator /Environmental Specialist

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in person and phone investigations for complaints received pertaining to violations of Executive Orders 63 and 76, any subsequent pertinent Executive Orders and Declarations of Public Health Emergency, and other environmental health needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Virginia.
  • Compose and deliver appropriate enforcement actions on violating facilities (e.g. Notices of Violation, suspension of restaurant permits).
  • Conduct follow up inspections, and serve as the COVID-19 related point of contact for businesses within the district, including education and outreach, on COVID-19 public safety guidance.
  • Make necessary referrals for complaints, and assist sister agencies in education and enforcement of EO’s for facilities.
  • Consider equity in all policies; including the application and enforcement of Executive Orders. Take appropriate steps to provide culturally appropriate and competent communications.
  • Excellent and sensitive interpersonal communication and interviewing skills, such that they can effective two-way communications regarding Executive Orders and safety measures and build and maintain trust with businesses   in the community.
  • Capacity to learn and apply established policies and procedures for enforcement activity.
  • Capacity to learn how to extract reports from a database in spreadsheet form, and to update a database with outcome information.
  • Ability to read and interpret Executive Orders, regulations, and  template letters for enforcement actions.
  • Ability to edit template letters to convey enforcement information, using correct spelling and grammar.
  • Understanding of when to consult supervisors with difficult or culturally sensitive scenarios.
  • Cultural competency appropriate to the local community.
  • Understanding of the application of health, safety, occupational, or other pertinent regulation by a government entity
  • Experience in providing culturally competent communications to racial or ethnic minorities, communities of color, or those for whom English is not a first language.
  • Code enforcement
  • Conflict Resolution experience

  • Current Driver’s License, in good standing required.
