Training Program and Accreditation Manager – UNC-Chapel Hill – Chapel Hill, NC

This is a professional position based within the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health’s Carolina Global Breastfeeding Institute (CGBI). The individual in this position is responsible for a broad range of duties related to clinical and didactic training and technical assistance (TA) as it relates to the Mary Rose Tully Training Initiative (MRT-TI) and partnering institutions seeking guidance from CGBI in the establishment of Pathway 2 Lactation Consultant training programs. MRT-TI is the first accredited Pathway 2 Lactation Program in the United States. The program consists of 2 didactic, graduate level course (3 credit hours each) and a minimum of 300 hours of clinical experience under the supervision of an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). This role will require the individual to oversee the accreditation and maintenance of the training program. The position will identify and develop new training and technical assistance modalities both in-person and via virtual platforms. The individual in this role will collaborate with subject matter experts, content specialists, program planning committees, and the program advisory committee to develop, refine, and evaluate educational programming curriculum and materials that are compliant with accredited Pathway 2 training program. The individual will supervise the accreditation operations for the program and provide accreditation specific TA through the accurate and responsive provision of support to faculty members, clinical preceptors, and relevant internal and external parties, ensuring compliance with school policies and university specific accreditation standards. The individual will liaise with the CGBI Director/faculty of record, as well as the Lactation Education Accreditation and Approval Review Committee (LEAARC) of the Commission on Accreditation of Health Education Program (CAAHEP).
