Dental Benefits Verification Specialist – NC Dental Network – Charlotte, NC

NC Pediatric Dentistry aims to provide excellent dental treatment by going beyond the basics to ensure visits are safe, relaxed, informative, and fun for children!

Dental Benefits Verification Specialist is needed for a busy practice support office to handle dental insurance verifications, patient eligibility and entry of insurance information into practice management software for multiple locations. The verification methods could include electronic validation, using a third-party verification company, or contacting the insurance company directly.

When connecting with insurance companies directly you will be calling, on behalf of the dentist’s office, to verify dental insurance benefit and restriction details as well as obtain specifics on coverage, deductibles, remaining benefits, etc.You will communicate with your teammates regarding the details you gather as well as the need for any additional information while ensuring the patient file is updated as needed prior to the patient’s appointment.

When using the third-party verification company, you will collect and review all patient insurance information obtained from them, ensuring accuracy prior to entering into the office software.

You will also be performing any related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with verification of dental insurance benefits as well as understanding of insurance plans.
  • At least one year of experience in insurance verification for a fast-paced dental practice.
  • Proficiency of one or more dental software systems: Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or other.
  • Basic dental terminology.
  • Intermediate skillset in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including professionalism with written and verbal communication.
  • Quick learner, personable, friendly and a team player.
  • Independent problem solver with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Must be able to work with multiple changing priorities.
  • Utilizing HIPAA guidelines at all times.

This position requires that the Associate be seated most of the day.
