Job Coach – Enclaves – Goodwill Industries of Tulsa – Tulsa, OK

OUR MISSION:
Goodwill Industries of Tulsa, Inc. provides work opportunities, job training and support services for people with disabilities or other employment barriers.

Work at our OSU Medical Center, Hillcrest hospital, or St. John Med. Centers enclave assisting clients with disabilities at a work station to include shredding, baling, or janitorial. As a Job Coach, you will provide direct care/supervision for our clients. All required training provided by Goodwill. Mon-Fri. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Full-time. H.S. Education required.

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides supervision of individuals in work groups in the community who are in need of constant supervision, understanding the training needs of supported workers and the ability to provide the accommodations required by each individual to be successful at the job tasks. Functions as an advocate and coordinates task acquisition, worker socialization, and community integration. Completes necessary paperwork and reports in order to provide successful employment services for the individual.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides direct care for supported workers including assistance with meals, and other personal needs, if warranted.
  • Assures that all rules and regulations of Goodwill Industries and the community worksite are upheld, reporting any deviations to the Program Manager or Coordinator.
  • Models the job obtained for the individual, using the correct techniques required by the employer.
  • Ensures that employer quality and quantity standards are maintained by fully training the supported worker to perform all aspects of the job, and by actually performing the job until some independence is achieved in order to maintain production quotas.
  • Interacts with and instructs individuals with reinforcement for positive behavior and promotes social integration, worker socialization, proper communication skills, and positive work attitudes.
  • Provides safety training to supported workers, emphasizing prevention of injury to themselves or others. Ensures that all safety policies are followed by those served, reporting any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Assists in the completion of documentation of individual’s performance towards completion of goals, monthly reports to referral/funding source, vocational assessments of individuals served, and incident/accident reports as necessary.
  • Completes job trainings and in-services as determined by the company and required by the funding source.
  • Reviews and is familiar with Company safety policies, programs and procedures. Adheres to all safety rules, regulations and safety codes, and attends safety training sessions and safety meetings. Maintains current certifications in First Aid and CPR and administers First Aid and CPR as required.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Administers medication, as necessary, per physician’s instructions, using Goodwill procedures and medication administration training for reference.
  • May attend team meetings in the capacity of a vocational professional and reports on progress of individual served, as well as plans for future service needs.
  • May occasionally transport individual served on an as needed basis.
  • Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school graduate, minimum of 21 years of age, with ability to pass required competency-based training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, depth perception, and seeing.

– Lifting/Carrying/ Pushing/Pulling: Medium Work – Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a valid Oklahoma driver’s license, with a good driving record.
  • Must maintain appropriate requirements for legal vehicle operation, including current automobile insurance inspection, and license plate.
  • Must be eligible for a positive outcome on required State of Oklahoma criminal conviction background check.
  • Must maintain Goodwill’s Drug-Free Workplace.
