Physical Therapist-PRN – Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System – Hutchinson, KS

Administers neurological/musculoskeletal/pain relieving rehabilitation procedures as ordered by the referring physician, administers standardized and non-standardized assessments, obtains and interprets data necessary for treatment, and implements and evaluates the patient plan of care. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs an assessment that is comprehensive, age appropriate and specific to patient need.
  • Formulates a plan of care from the comprehensive assessment that includes a diagnosis and measurable goals and objectives.
  • Maximizes the patient’s abilities in a safe, effective and appropriate manner, prioritizing patient needs and utilizing available resources.
  • Evaluates therapy to determine the effectiveness of actions in obtaining goals and objectives.
  • Insures functional outcomes and continuity of care through discharge planning.
  • Assesses patient/family preferences, goals and needs and implements appropriate measures to meet these.
  • Completes patient care and department documentation which is timely, accurate and concise.
  • Performs patient care functions with regards to patients’ age newborn through geriatric.
  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • Demonstrated competency in test administration and use of therapy materials and equipment.
  • Medical terminology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Physical Therapy.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Current licensure in Physical Therapy through the Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS – if BLS is not American Heart Association, AHA BLS is required within three months of hire.

PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • American Heart Association BLS.
