Job purpose

The Program Coordinator works in the Emergency Department and assists in making sure that patient charts are accurate and correct for proper billing and supports the Emergency Department needs.

Duties and responsibilities

· Assists and supports the Site Medical Director

· Coordinates the team meetings and meeting schedules

· Take minutes for ER meetings

· Distributes the schedule to medical staff office

  • Reads Emergency Department patient charges and looks for accuracy and required items for completion
  • Acts as the liaison between billing company and providers
  • Runs daily/monthly reports regarding patient charges and distributes accordingly
  • Notifies providers of outstanding charts in order to receive timely payments
  • Assists the Vice President, Medical Director, & Lead APP as needed
  • Maintains a strong relationship with internal providers, staff and outside vendors.
  • Facilitates the resolution/prevention of billing errors, outstanding charts and documentation compliance.
  • Sorts and distributes provider mail
  • Collects and faxes/e-mail provider time sheets
  • Collects and faxes/e-mail Code Blue responses
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Medical Director, and/or Lead APP

Qualifications

  • Medical Terminology knowledge
  • Medical Coding and billing knowledge
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Basic computer skills for data entry

Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital – Nacogdoches, TX

Physical requirements

· Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

· The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading;
