Nutrition Services Director

REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer

HOURS: Monday through Friday; 37.5 per week (full-time)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide daily support for the Meals on Wheels Coordinator, Nutrition Services Specialist, Meals on Wheels Coordinator, 2 High Point Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers, and 6 Community Nutrition Site Managers.

Conduct, at a minimum, monthly site visits to each Community Nutrition site.

Work with Site Managers to plan and implement site programming.

Work with the Meals on Wheels Coordinator, Nutrition Services Specialist, and Nutrition Services Advisory Council to plan and implement regular fundraisers for Nutrition Services.

Ensure clients’ annual reassessments are completed by Site Managers and the Client Registration Form (CRF), ServTracker, and Aging Resources Management System (ARMS) are updated with new information and reassessment dates.

Ensure coverage of Community Nutrition sites in the absence of a Site Manager.

Conduct annual inspections of the Meals on Wheels and Community Nutrition catering sites.

Conduct annual inspections of each Community Nutrition site and ensure appropriate inspection paperwork is completed for monitoring visits as required by the Division of Aging and Adult Services.

Create and distribute a bi-annual Nutrition newsletter.

Conduct monthly Nutrition meetings with staff including the Meals on Wheels Coordinator, Nutrition Services Specialist, and Community Nutrition Site Managers.

Conduct regular Advisory Council Meetings, provide orientation for new council members, and provide annual training for the council.

Work with the Nutrition Services Specialist to prepare for annual monitoring visits by gathering information and maintaining files needed for review.

Prepare monthly Community Nutrition menus and activity calendars for distribution.

Generate weekly sign-in sheets for each Community Nutrition site.

Ensure quarterly fire drills are completed at each Community Nutrition Site.

Complete annual paperwork for the Area Agency on Aging including but not limited to Nutrition waivers and SPE Forms.

Assist with caterer contract renewals and bid processes as needed.

Assist with the Thanksgiving and Christmas meal deliveries.

Deliver meals as needed when volunteers are unavailable or fail to come to complete their route.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work with numbers.

Ability to prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.

Ability to understand and work with seniors.

Knowledge and experience with computers.

Have reliable transportation and valid NC driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Nutrition, or similar field or equivalent experience.

Experience with aging programs and/or services preferred.

Experience working with older adults preferred.

Supervisory experience.
