CLINICAL ASSISTANT – Volunteers Of America Inc – Riverton, WY

Summary/Objective

The Clinical Assistant provides administrative support to patients and the treatment team at the Center of Hope treatment facility. The Clinical Assistant is also the point of contact for visitors to the facility, providing information and maintaining positive relationships with referral sources and community partners.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain daily patient lists, ensuring census data is accurate

  • Ensure patients complete all paperwork and all intake/discharge processes are completed

  • Provide administrative support for all written correspondence and scheduling for clinical needs

  • Assist the Clinician

  • Answer multi-line phone system

  • Enter data into the databases and ensure information accuracy between databases and census

  • Assist patients with the completion of Addiction Severity Index (ASI) assessment

  • Assist in the prescription monitoring

  • Responsible for petty cash expense reconciliation

  • Obtain assistance/benefits for patients in a residential program to assist in successful reintegration into the community

  • Perform Recovery Mentor duties as needed

  • Transport patients as needed

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a residential treatment facility environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to bend or stoop as necessary. This position must be mobile throughout the facility, as well as work on a computer for periods.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.

Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Required Education, Experience or Eligibility Qualifications

or

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus minimum five (5) years business, customer service, human service or similar experience

  • Proficient with a variety of computer software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite and electronic databases

Preferred Education and Experience

Previous Human Services training and experience in the addiction field
