The Executive Assistant for Strategic Operations and Governmental Relations serves as part of the University’s government relations team by engaging with federal, state, and local officials and their teams related to advocacy and outreach. The Executive Assistant for Strategic Operations and Governmental Relations also works closely with executive level offices across the University, including vice presidents, deans, directors, and others.
The Executive Assistant for Strategic Operations and Governmental Relations plays a critical role in the Office of the President by scheduling meetings, as well as assisting in the preparation and review of correspondence, publications, reports, briefing and research documents, and other communication and outreach. The Executive Assistant for Strategic Operations and Governmental Relations must be professional and discreet in the execution of University business, including the handling of confidential matters.

Demonstrated ability to effectively oversee office operations and processes. Considerable knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques. Excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers to include deans, directors, vice presidents, and government officials at the federal, state, and local level. Demonstrated skill in proofreading documents and the ability to pay close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to collect, compile, and analyze data. Effective time management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. Demonstrated ability to be discrete, employ tact and poise, maintain confidentiality, and safeguard sensitive documents and/or information. Exceptional computer and technical skills to include proficient skill in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in an administrative role supporting an executive level position. Significant experience in office management to include coordinating office programs and events. Significant experience in scheduling meetings, developing agendas, preparing minutes, arranging travel, drafting correspondences, and preparing presentations.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification
Considerable progressively responsible related experience supporting a chief executive officer in a college or university setting. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
Conditions of Employment
