Director of IT PMO – Ciergesoft LLC – Suwanee, GA

Our Healthsystem Client is seeking PMO Director who can serve the IT project managers to accomplish organizational and departmental strategic goals and objectives. Develops and implements PMO methodology and framework and processes, directs PMO project managers, and works with department leaders on priorities and resource management. Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs/projects, priorities, and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of strategic plans.

Monitors and researches related technology and business trends to advise senior management relative to IT strategy. Facilitates efficient use of resources across portfolios and the project prioritization process. Provides analysis of proposed projects to determine alignment with business goals and objectives. Manage the pipeline of ideas and prioritize the pipeline through criteria that align with the strategic pillars and organizational goals. Ensures project managers and PMO function adds value to the organization.

Develop plans and strategies for effectively implementing technology solutions and supporting the achievement of stated outcome goals. Partners with leaders across the system in project management and prioritization efforts and serve as a consultant advisor to help ensure that best practice project management and training methods are used to achieve optimal outcomes and implementation success. Responsible for the overall success of IT projects. Serves as a consultant and advisor for the IT operations leadership team. Coaches and develops staff, teams, and partners.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Project Management or related field required. Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years related management experience require.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable certification required or within 12 months of employment.
  • Five to seven years of previous healthcare/hospital clinical information systems experience required.
  • Proven leadership abilities and comprehensive knowledge of healthcare information systems.
  • Solid technical grounding, project management, and implementation experience.

  • Must possess strong skills in project management, business and clinical process redesign, written / verbal communication, physician relations, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experienced with change management. Understands how to drive faster adoption, higher utilization of, and proficiency with the changes that impact people. Proven ability to communicate compelling reasons for change and establish a sense of urgency.
  • Proven experience with relationship building, negotiation skills, engaging buy-in and support across the system, and measuring the value of implementations.
  • Understand hospitals and the importance of technology to improve patient care.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Defines IT project management standards, organize implementation activities to achieve optimum service delivery, systems, and processes while setting high-performance objectives for the department. Holds self and others accountable to meet stated objectives, outcomes, goals, timetables, and commitments, adhering to standards even in the face of unforeseen circumstances.
  • Directs the tactical and strategic implementation of systems-related business process improvements and deployment of Information Technology systems including requirements definition, system selection activities, application design, development, technical training, test and implementation using project management methodologies and tools.
  • Directs application requirements and system build design with specifications from operational owners to ensure that clinical/business needs are met with the application implementation. This includes coordination of technical escalation discussions with vendors.
  • Synthesizes all available information to make informed decisions. Fosters creativity, innovation, and divergent thinking in self and others. Manages complex situations using multiple sources of information and advice. Prioritizes, proposes, and leads operational projects/system changes based on careful analysis of current processes.
  • Works collaboratively with IT and organizational leadership to assure customer expectations are met during the implementation process and that appropriate support level agreements and processes have been established for a smooth transition to support services.
  • Manages the relationship with leadership, customers, vendors, and/or partners to define project parameters, maintains enterprise project plans and schedules, and assist operational leadership develop detailed project documentation including business requirements, project charters and project metric plans.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year
