How Bright Cellars Works Our members join Bright Cellars by taking a 7 question-quiz to share their taste preferences. The Bright Points learning algorithm evaluates these preferences to determine the best wine matches for each member’s taste. Each month, members receive four or six unique bottles in the mail, which they are then able to rate and provide personalized feedback on their profile. Similar to Netflix’s collaborative filtering algorithm, Bright Cellars’s algorithm uses this feedback to improve members’ monthly matches going forward.

A Little About This Role*
We’re looking for a Compliance Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you will provide support to the Compliance Administrator by researching, gathering, and monitoring state and federal compliance efforts. This is a great opportunity to continue to grow your career in the space of alcohol compliance, and to learn more about the direct to consumer wine industry!
What You’ll Do:
- Review and prep monthly DTC sales data files: identify data anomalies, ask the right questions, look for answers and make decisions as needed (Excel).
- Run pivots and reports on state data files as needed. (Excel)
- Maintain Brand/Label Registrations and spreadsheets of current COLAs.
- Monitor respective state alcohol volume limitations to avoid overage.
- Monitor alcohol license and bond renewals to ensure timely payment and filing.
- Assist Compliance Administrator in gathering required documents for any state or federal agency audits.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and/or annual state and federal sales and excise tax returns if necessary.
- Assist Compliance Administrator in compliance research and projects.
- Assist Compliance Administrator in completing and gathering documents for DTC license applications.
- Assist Compliance Administrator in responses to regulatory changes.
- Communicate and collaborate with the Engineering team as needed to communicate changes, improve processes, develop reports and implement compliance initiatives.
- File monthly 3Tier reports as needed.
Experience We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of wine compliance experience, with strong DTC and reporting experience a bonus
- Strong MS Office & Excel skills
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to understand the dynamics of competing business priorities
