Maintenance Technician-North Colo Springs, Falcon, Denver Metro Areas – Big R Stores – Pueblo, CO

Responsibilities

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent

with health and safety standards

• Assist in the setup of new stores and other events and conduct repairs when necessary

• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)

• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.)

• Assist in budget preparation and ensure it is followed

• Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary

• Implement preventative maintenance measures

• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies

• Complete inspections of buildings with supervisor

• Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol

• Perform other maintenance duties as requested

• Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including skid steer, company vehicle with trailer and small hand tools

• EPA certification a plus

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Able to work well with minimal supervision

• Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures

• Travel to various locations

• Proven experience
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
• High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
• Must be willing to travel (overnight travel can average 45 plus nights per year)
• Ability to pass background check
• Physically capable of lifting 50 plus pounds unassisted
