Our facility in King of Prussia, PA has an immediate opportunity for a Material Handler Specialist to join our mission. This position reports through the Lockheed Martin Space Company Operations Support & Services Organization in our King of Prussia, PA location. Our logistics team provides, shipping, receiving, materials management, and transportation services primarily to our two business units at this location: Space and Rotary & Mission Systems. Locally, we design and build satellites, spacecraft, and ground stations that do amazing things in space for government and commercial customers in addition to offering Information Technology Solutions to our customers. In this role you will be performing in a dynamic team environment in the inventory management and receiving departments with opportunities for growth and advancement within and outside the logistics operations providing a steppingstone for other opportunities for career growth.

Summary of Key Duties: In this role you will….

  • Load, unload, and convey materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site

  • Perform a combination of tasks under specific direction which may include inventory management, receiving, and shipping

  • Open containers using hand tools

  • Count and weigh materials and recording information in our various inventory management and receiving systems

  • Load and unload materials onto/or from pallets, trays, racks, conveyors, and machines by hand

  • Load or unload materials into/or from trucks by hand

  • Convey materials using a hand truck, forklift, electric dolly, elevator, or other devices

  • Stack or assemble materials

  • Aid machine operators by lifting heavy objects by hand or by use of power hoist


Our employees working in this level of position typically have 3 years of experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years of related warehousing, inventory management and/or receiving experience

  • Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 – 75 lbs)

  • Must have a valid U.S. based drivers license

  • Competent computer skills

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance


Desired Skills:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree

  • Forklift certified

  • Experienced and skilled at using Microsoft business software (Word and Excel)
