Senior Account Manager – Brenntag – Plainfield, PA

Our team in South Plainfield currently has an opening for a Senior Account Manager

Global distributor of specialty polymers and waxes seeks a highly organized, positive and motivated individual who works well independently and will be an integral part of our active team.

Responsibilities:

Overview: Under limited supervision, coordinate the sales orders and delivery of products in order to meet customer needs.

Products: Polymers and waxes

Territory: USA and Canada

  • Negotiate and conclude sales contracts according to general guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage sales of existing accounts and generate new leads.
  • Gather information and maintain accurate records. This includes information regarding customer sales by volume and types of material, prospective customers and their material needs, customer call reports including intelligence re competitors, and customer solvency (credit check).
  • Propose regular sales itinerary to meet existing customers and explore new prospects.
  • Hands-on overseeing of transactions from order placement through execution.
  • Achieve sales targets and gross profit targets following sales and product strategy based on a budget target for current accounts.
  • Report immediately and accurately to management specific customer requests or problems that occur before, during, or after the sale (e.g. credit, supply issues, claims, technical needs….) and implement agreed upon solutions
  • Monitor competitive situations, i.e. products, pricing, etc.
  • Issue regular reports to management.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences and customer meetings in order to create visibility and knowledge of Alphamin brand and maintain client relationships.
  • Support other sales colleagues and lab by providing updated sales and technical information and marketing tools, including technical data, sales pricing, competitor intel, etc.
  • Monitor inventory of products, relating to the area of responsibility and report to management.
  • 5+ years of proven experience with Account Management in a chemical related industry.
  • BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical background.
