Microchip designs and markets the MPLAB ICD 4 In-Circuit Debugger, MPLAB PICkit 4, development boards, MPLAB X IDE, MPLAB XC compilers, and other solutions in supporting embedded and design applications using our microcontroller or analog components. The Dev Tools group is looking for an experienced Marketing Engineer in its mission in delivering state of the art products in debugging technology. As a Dev Tools Marketing Engineer, this individual will identify and develop ways to promote and enhance the development tool ecosystem in support of Microchip’s broad portfolio of semiconductor devices. Act as an internal advocate and promoter of development tool platforms and drive marketing plans and promotional activities for these products. Develop business plans and product positioning for the development tools ecosystem and marketplace. Oversee market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs as they relate to development tools. Establish pricing strategies and resale. Works with customers, applications, engineering, distributors and sales to bring innovative new products or enhancements to existing products or product lines into the development tools ecosystem. - Conduct research to assess the overall market
- Search, track and explore market data, including sales and analytics reporting
- Collect customer and field inputs
- Perform in a project leadership role, coordinating activities of cross-functional teams
- Interact with management and senior external personnel on matters requiring coordination across internal and external groups
- Drives product awareness and promotion with distribution network
- Responsible for developing and maintaining development tool product sales material, articles, collateral, Microchip web pages and content, and presence in social media
- Trains sales, distributors, applications, engineering, and marketing colleagues to drive awareness and understanding of products through the different communication channels
- Drives marketing campaigns with corporate marketing using Marketo, the web and social media
- Drives development tool promotional coordination at exhibitions and conferences
- Partner with silicon business units to promote product launches
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with digital marketing techniques and websites
- BSEE or related degree required, MBA preferred
- Experience in embedded system sales, marketing and/or business development
- Familiar with embedded system design with development tool experience a plus
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills over across-cultural boundaries
- Ability to influence multiple disciplines
- Good project management and ability to coordinate multiple projects at once
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel approximately 10%
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
