Role: Knowledge Author (Healthcare) – Clinical Reasoning & Decision Support

Location: 100% Remote

Primary Responsibilities

• Write simplified healthcare code (CQL, FHIR) to represent healthcare specifications (ex., eCQM, and CDS-Hooks)
• Research and stay updated with innovative healthcare data models (FHIR), healthcare logic expressions (CQL), and healthcare definitional models (FHIR) to express healthcare specifications correctly
• Design test plans that ensure the code generates the correct data (expressed FHIR)
• Build data models that include values that exercise the test plan (FHIR)
• Document, maintain, and publish results in FHIR Implementation Guides to enable uptake and implementation by healthcare institutions
• Collaborate cross-functionally and with healthcare specialists, clinicians, and terminologists to understand the design and development process of CPGs and CQMs, from the requirements to design, implementation, and testing
• Identify and capture best practices and lessons learned
• Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in program analysis. Conduct research to support program objectives and provide insights as deemed necessary
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of all program activities, findings, and recommendations
• Support PGT’s corporate duties and initiatives, such as bids and proposals
• Comply with all company policies and partner agreements, involving but not limited to privacy, security, and confidentiality. Hold all confidential information in trust and strict confidence and ensure that it shall be used only for the purposes required to fulfill employment obligations and shall not be used for any other purpose or disclosed to any third party.  A breach of policy or misuse of information could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment

Minimum Qualification

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor H1B VISA applicant
• Ability to qualify for and maintain a public trust clearance (required by Fed. Gov. clients)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in computer science, software design and development, or a related field of study with valid industry certifications. Comparable and verifiable work experience will be considered.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in healthcare-related projects in a multi-hospital system with similar scope and impact is strongly desired
• Experience with Java programming and writing computable programs or code. Experience with CQL queries and FHIR data models is preferred
• Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across multiple mediums and settings
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to distill complex information and narratives into compelling messages
• Strong time management, creativity, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues
• A capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail
