HEALTHCARE PROVIDER

 

Brief Description of Duties:

SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Health Care Provider to work in the Student Health Center.

 

Job responsibilities:

• Provide direct medical care to currently enrolled SUNY Morrisville students: duties include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow up for common medical issues seen in college health
• Refer to and consult with outside agencies/healthcare providers as necessary
• Serve as a valuable on-campus resource for health related crisis response, consultation and intervention as necessary
• Participate in campus outreach efforts
• Serve on campus committees which enhance campus life
• Engage in continuing education to stay current on best practices and fulfil/maintain state licensure and national certification
• This is a 10-month Academic Year, permanent appointment position. Hours are primarily Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., may include occasional evening or weekend for campus events.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from either an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program and currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in good standing in New York State
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as healthcare provider
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a healthcare team
• Sensitivity and willingness to work with a diverse student community
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills

 

Preferred qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as healthcare provider
• Knowledge/experience working in a college health setting
• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent and sensitive medical care to a racially, ethnically and culturally diverse population
