Job Details
In this role, you will:
- Underwrite and manage a book of new and renewal business including Healthcare Professional Liability (PL), General Liability (GL), Directors & Officers (D&O), Employment Practices Liability and Auto (EPL) coverages
- Gather and analyze information to determine risk acceptability
- Demonstrate analytical skills with the proven ability to make expedient and sound decisions
- Demonstrate success in negotiation and building collaborative relationships
- Analyze and resolve issues pertaining to coverage, including answering questions on Healthcare PL, GL, D&O, EPL and Auto coverages
- Assist facilities, medical groups, and brokers with questions regarding rates, credits, contribution/premium methodology, and census categories
- Identify and discuss with management areas of improvement related to coverage and rating
- Review third-party contractual insurance requirements, specifically hold harmless and indemnification clauses
- Approve coverage requests, including underwriting and evaluating risk, completion of forms, and maintenance of data
- Perform contribution/census audits and site visits as required
Qualified candidates will offer:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or insurance designations
- 5+ years’ experience in insurance underwriting
- Experience underwriting for hospital and/or physician malpractice
- Outstanding attention to detail, discretion, and communication skills
