4 days a week

Supports: ICU, TCU, Med/Surg Peds, Cardiac Tele, Medical Surgical

Cardiac Telemetry-

We are a high-paced, high-energy 38 bed unit in cardiac and neurological care service line that cares for patients having chest pain, congestive heart failure, stroke, TIA’s, and many other diagnoses. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by teamwork and dedication to our community.

We have a wide verity of patients, a mix of cardiac and stroke patients. This diverse nature provides a lot of educational moments for coworkers. Excellent decision-making capacity among the group in regards to patient care and process improvement opportunities.4:1 Patient Nurse Ratio- patient care associates to assist in patient care.

Medical Surgical:

We are a 30 bed Medical/Surgical Unit. Our patient population includes GI, Oncology, UTI, Dehydration, Pneumonia, COPD, Wounds, and Post Op care. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:6 with Patient Care Associates on the floor to help as well. Our floor’s core values are teamwork and accountability and we feel like you will find a sense of belonging in our team.

Medical Surgical-Adults/Peds:

We are a high energy, fast paced 30 bed Medical/Surgical/Adult & Pediatric unit that cares for medical and post operative patients. These patients are primarily adults 18 years and older.

However, we also care for approximately 1-2 pediatric patients per month. Our patient population consists of but not limited to post op knees, hips, shoulders, colon resections, bariatric

surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and stable pneumothorax. Our nurse to patient ratio is 1:6 with the assistance of Patient Care Associates. We have an exceptional unit highlighted by coworkers with knowledge, dedication, teamwork, empathy, and compassion .

Overview:

Responsible for implementing, in coordination with Nursing Leadership and Talent Development Optimization (TDO), programs aimed at improving competencies and increasing awareness of nursing trends. In conjunction with Nurse Managers, TDO, Physician leaders, and administration, develops and monitors QI programs for the Nursing Divisions, and all other Ancillary Departments. Coordinates clinical education at the unit and overall division level. Serves as a clinical conultant and a role model by planning and coordinating patient care in area of specialty practice. Acts as a consultant to the bedside nurse regarding specialty patient situations, directing the nurse in the appropriate direction and providing the necessary education. Including but not limited to IV therapy, wound therapy and care of the complex patient. As a resource person for the Hospital, consults with physicians, consumers, community and other health care disciplines. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and mercy standards. Qualifications:

  • Education: BSN required. Internal transfer applicants without Bachelor’s degree may be considered if the applicant is willing to actively pursue a Baccalaureate degree once hired into position. Actively pursuing a Baccalaureate degree is defined as being enrolled in a Baccalaureate program and completing at least one course per semester.
  • Licensure: Must have a current RN temporary permit/ RN license in the State of Missouri
  • Experience: Requires three – five years of experience in inpatient nursing.
  • Other: The person must be able to function well with a high degree of independence and initiative and possess an in depth knowledge of clinical nursing. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Because of the changing needs of the department/institution, the appropriate percent of time devoted to the duties of the clinician, educator, researcher and consultant as outlined in duties and responsibilities may be contracted differently for certain periods of time.
  • Preferred Education: MSN preferred
  • Preferred Experience: Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in prior nursing leadership or education.
  • Preferred Certifications: Prefer specialty certification in nursing
