Coordinator-Referral/Authorization – Family Practice – FT – Days – Lourdes Physician Clinic – Pasco, WA

Responsible for telephone screening, referral, authorizations, and scheduling of initial appointments in a timely manner. Tracks and processes inbound referrals made by community physicians, reviews referrals, ensure appropriate authorization is secured, and schedules appointment with the patient. Tracks and processes outbound referrals, is responsible for obtaining provider’s order and supporting documentation, and forwards to the specialists office timely. Ensures any required authorization for the referral or testing is obtained. When appropriate, Coordinator will assist in scheduling appointments for Diagnostic tests ordered. Responsible for communication back to the referral source for which the patient was scheduled or unable to be seen. A critical attribute required of this position is exceptional interpersonal customer services consisting of an outgoing positive attitude, warm friendly joyful demeanor, and the utmost care and reverence for our guests, patients, families, customers and colleagues.

  • Education: AA Degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ of healthcare insurance or related experience required. Relevant office/clerical experience required. Coding experience preferred.
  • Other: Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking abilities preferred. Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
