Registered Radiologic Technologist – Mammography

Position Summary:

Operates equipment and performs various radiographic/fluoroscopic and mammography related procedures. Explains procedures and educates patients about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares for and assists radiologists in completion of radiologic/ fluoroscopic examinations and completion of needle localization and stereotactic procedures
  • Reviews all diagnostic data for completeness and accuracy
  • Assesses the patient’s physical and mental status prior to discharge from the department
  • Performs a variety of tasks
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited educational program in radiologic technology required
  • Professional credentialing with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology and Mammography required
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or Kootenai Health BLS within 60 days of hire

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
  • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs
