Health Unit Coordinator (PICU) – Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital – Saint Petersburg, FL

POSITION SUMMARY:

Participates in patient centered care across the continuum and performs clerical functions that support unit operations and assumes the reception role for the unit. The Health Unit Coordinator’s (HUC) purpose is to contribute to the effective communication of care needs for patients and families. This position contributes to the goals of the department by providing an opportunity for the Health Unit Coordinator to collaborate with all members of the care team and be accountable for the delivery of patient care at a demonstrated level of safe practice and as defined by JHACH policy.

Location: St. Petersburg FL

Hours: 7:00am-7:30pm / 36 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement.
• One year previous health unit coordinator or related experience required.
• Ability to work independently, prioritizes, and has exceptional organizational skills.
• Demonstrates basic computer skills.
• Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, physicians, ancillary and support staff.
• Ability to effectively manage within an environment of emotional and physical stress.
• Must be able to employ a variety of communications equipment, including multi-line telephone system, facsimile equipment, computers, etc.
