In this role, the Physical Therapist II. performs advanced/specialized physical therapy services/procedures and consultations, primarily in area of advanced clinical competency and/or specialty certification.The PT II. develops clinical programs within area of expertise and provides training to other staff and students.
Essential Job Functions
- Evaluates patients utilizing the advanced/specialized test and measurements; to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.
- Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Establishes a treatment plan based upon the evaluation findings; and the patient/family, the referring practitioner and therapist’s goals.
- Performs advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.
- Treats patients with complex problems ie. co-morbidities and/or poor previous out-comes; consults on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.
- Documents findings; patient progress; and procedures performed and time required.
- Instructs patient/families in home programs.
- Demonstrates effective time management; achieves designated productivity standard.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors, Master’s or DPT degree or verification by the APTA of equivalent training in another country.
Position Details:
- Job type/FTE: Part Time- 16 hours a week, will also include weekends.
- Shift: Days – 8-hour shift
- CBA Code: Non-Union
