Medical Billing AR Analyst – Newport Medical Solutions – Frisco, TX

Job Purpose:

This position is for an insurance collector who can use their healthcare knowledge to research denials and determine if the insurance company has paid correctly on medical claims.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• High-quality customer service skills, flexibility and the ability and desire to function in a high volume, fast paced, team environment
• Responsible for handling claim-related inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
• Performing claim adjustments, and processing Provider Disputes in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Thorough understanding of claims industry and customer service standards.
• Work with aged accounts, bring them current through follow up and analytical skills.
• Processes rejections/denials and determine action required.
• Position requires experience with physician billing

Qualifications:

• Position required 3-5 years of experience with physician billing, surgical specialty preferred
• Prior Medi-Cal/Medicare, PPO, HMO, IPA’s and Workers’ Compensation experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding and general practices of claims processing
• Professional demeanor, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to review refund, recoupment demands for appropriate handling.
• Experience in a managed care environment in the area of claims processing, billing/collections.
• Must have 10-key by touch, Proficient MS Excel and Word.
• Previous electronic medical billing, EPM, EHR experience. NextGen, Centricity. or eCW experience a plus.
