Pre-OP/PACU Manager – Greater Sacramento Surgery Center – Sacramento, CA

The Greater Sacramento Surgery Center (GSSC) has an opening for a full-time Pre-Op/PACU Nurse Manager. GSSC is a freestanding, fast-paced multi-specialty ASC that performs over 6000 procedures per year. The Pre-op/PACU Nurse Manager is a working position that includes providing patient care. GSSC is seeking a candidate who has experience managing a busy outpatient healthcare environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works in coordination with senior management.

· Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the Pre-Op/PACU areas.

· Knowledgeable and participates in infection control practices, risk management and quality improvement.

· Oversees all facility surveys pertaining to the Pre-Op/PACU areas.

· With oversight from the Executive Director, ensures the center operates within budget and in accordance with care and performance standards.

· Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional areas of the Pre-Op/PACU.

· Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and employees and ensures delivery of quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2-3 years management experience in a Pre-Op/PACU environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in nursing or other health-related field or equivalent work experience. MHN preferred.
  • Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
  • Successful completion of BLS, ACLS and PALS.
  • Prior CMS Certification and/or AAAHC or equivalent accreditation experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline.
  • Strong documentation skill and computer skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
