Medical Assistant / Travel Health Specialist
We are seeking a full-time energetic team member to support our growing, concierge travel medicine practice in Scottsdale. Join our team and help make a difference with COVID-19 testing, administering vaccines, and providing solutions for our exclusive clientele who are traveling all over the world. Our corporate culture values customer service, initiative, and working as a team. We are a fee for service provider, so there are no interactions with insurance companies.
Customer Service:
- Primary point of contact for our customers including telephone and email enquiries, appointment, and test scheduling.
- Facilitate patient flow for the travel medicine provider doing pre-travel consultations.
- Create and modify patient records in the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Entering patient data and creating reports to meet state requirements.
Medical Duties (depending on skills and experience):
- Administer COVID-19 tests, either drive up or in our lobby.
- Manage our in-house laboratory and medical equipment.
- Process COVID-19 and other tests using point-of-care devices; report and communicate results to patients.
- Draw up and administer vaccines for travel, including pediatrics.
- Communicate and report lab test results.
Required Skills:
- Will gain proficient knowledge of travel medicine practices and preventive measures for customers traveling to international destinations overseas.
- Must have extraordinary customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- An interest in travel and international health.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or a BA/BS in Biology, Chemistry,
World Health, Travel and Tourism or related field. New graduates welcome.
- Position includes occasionally working independently off-site doing concierge home or office visits.
- Up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office software, including Word and Excel.
- Experience working with an electronic medical record.
- Experience working with vaccines a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish.
- Certification preferred.
