Medical Front Desk Receptionist – Night Lite Pediatrics – Jacksonville, FL

Night Lite Pediatrics has an immediate opening for a Medical Front Office Billing position.

We are looking for a detailed oriented individual to answer phone calls, greet patients with enthusiasm as they come in, handle insurance coding and billing account responsibilities, as well as support the operations of the office.

NOTE: The full-time position hours are 2:30 pm-11:00 pm on weekdays and 10:30 am- 11:00pm on weekends.

The position requires working 2 weekends a month.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Check in and register all walk-in patients.
  • Collects co-pays, insurance deductibles, and coinsurance.
  • Answers incoming phone calls, taking messages as appropriate.
  • Provides general information as requested
  • Receives all over-the-counter payments.
  • Enter charges, verify coverage, balancing cash-checks-CC at the end of each workday while utilizing EMR (electronic medical record) system.
  • Balances charges and payments, as well as post/, verifies charges with daily report.
  • Performs daily auditing of front desk charges.
  • Audits EMR medical records to ensure procedures match at the end of the work shift and/or when needed.
  • Ensures special codes are entered in EMR for back staff such as Self Pay, Aetna, BCBS, etc.
  • Prepares recap and census sheets as required by management with no discrepancies.
  • Prepares medical records for faxing electronically via EMR to PCP office before the end of shift.
  • Performs daily reconciliation of payments and adjustments posted against the sign-in sheet, and MicroMD correcting any discrepancies prior to the daily close including batched credit card balancing.
  • Reviews EMR pending charges.
  • Check faxes throughout the work shift and distributes them to the appropriate department

Qualifications Required

  • At least a High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of front office experience in a medical office
  • Must type at least 50 wpm.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ICD10 codes
  • Good command of the English language including verbal and written
  • Prior experience using MS Outlook including Word and Excel programs.
  • Ability to compute mathematical calculations

Work environment

  • Considered second / evening shift and every other weekend
  • Hours 2:30 pm- 11:00pmt weekdays, and 10:30 am- 11:00 pm on weekends.
  • Full time based on 36 hours per week
  • Week one (Mon Tue Sat-Sun)
