Front Desk Associate

Infections Managed, an established & thriving medical practice on the east side of Fort Lauderdale, is looking to build its team with a highly motivated front desk assistant. Our organization is cutting edge, dynamic and growing, we need someone to fit our culture. The person will report to the front office manager and physician. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Answering the telephone within the first 2 to 3 rings; taking and triaging messages to the appropriate person(s).

Assist patients with emphasis on quality patient care while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Assist with Workers Compensation forms and processes.

Call ‘No Shows’ and delete encounter if one was generated for the missed visit.

Check in patients. (make sure an acceptable picture is on file, demographic and insurance updates are recorded and the patient is electronically arrived)

Check-out patients, give instructions and make next appointment.

Collect copays for Tele-Med visits.

Collect patient co-payments, deductibles and other amounts owed.

Complete 2-week reminder calls for upcoming appointments.

E-Fax – clearing, tagging, routing and uploading faxes to EMR daily.

Ensure bathroom is clean after patient use; hand soap, toilet paper, and paper towels are stocked.

Ensure the appropriate new patient documents are completed, signed and uploaded.

Ensure the reception area remains organized and clean.

Follow-up with No Show/Cancelled visits.

Greet patients when they enter the office.

Maintain patients position in the queue with room flags.

Obtain new patient documentation for next day or prior patient next appointment.

Provide directions to the office and any information requested.

Review voice messages and delegate to the appropriate person.

Additional administrative duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • College level preferred

Experience:

  • Ability to comfortably multitask
  • Adaptability to quickly navigate through multiple computer programs
  • Excellent customer-service personality
  • Must have a car and able to drive.
  • Previous experience working in a busy thriving medical office a plus.
  • Work according to our company policies and procedures

KEY COMPETENCIES

Detail oriented

Excellent communication (oral, written, telephone) and a well-developed customer service focus; dealing effectively with patients, physicians, other staff, and the community.

Excellent experience with Microsoft Office, EMR, E-fax and multiple other computer programs.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Proficient use of computers, scanners, and other office equipment. IT savvy.

Strong work ethic/Team player

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
